The Power of R.E.S.E.T.
There will always be deadlines. There will always be ideas, the pressure to complete them, and the responsibilities of everyday life. One day I crashed! I was stuck! I couldn’t think, create and it was like I had no recharged like a phone battery dies because it wasn’t charged. My mind was overthinking and I couldn’t shut it down. I was tired, getting headaches but yet kept pushing myself. Eventually I crashed out. I was left feeling depressed, and for a split second I didn’t want to continue producing. Anxiety took a seat, while depression was beating me up taking me through the what ifs — these ideas don’t work.
I heard God through a small voice through the panic tell me to move away from the computer and R.E.S.E.T.

Release the pressure.
Everything does not have to be accomplished today.

Exhale without guilt.
Resting does not make you lazy, unproductive, or less committed to your vision.

Step away.
Sometimes you have to physically remove yourself from the work so your mind can recover.

Evaluate what matters.
Not everything screaming for your attention deserves your immediate attention.

Trust the vision again.
A tired moment does not mean the vision is wrong. You may simply need to recharge.
As CEOs, entrepreneurs, leaders, and visionaries, we celebrate the hustle. We tell ourselves to keep pushing, keep building, and keep producing. But we must also learn when not to push.
That day, I gave myself permission to do absolutely nothing. I watched movies. I rested. I stopped trying to solve everything. And I realized something important: I wasn’t quitting. I was recharging.
Your vision needs you — but it needs a healthy, clear, rested version of you. So, CEO, when your battery starts flashing red, don’t wait until you completely shut down. Give yourself permission to R.E.S.E.T.
